SmartEvals is committed to providing software solutions that are usable by the broadest
possible group of people. Our development processes are therefore focused on designing
inclusive software tools that simplify participation for all users, including people with disabilities.
Accessibility Standards Conformance
SmartEvals software applications are designed and tested for conformance with
internationally-recognized accessibility standards for information technology. Specifically,
SmartEvals software products are designed to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
(WCAG) 2.1 Level AA success criteria, and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. §
798). SmartEvals conducts routine assessments of its software products and documents results
in an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR).
Overview of Accessibility Features
SmartEvals utilizes the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)
recommendations in the ongoing development and maintenance of our software products.
Below, we have outlined key accessibility features in SmartEvals software applications.
Structure & Layout
SmartEvals software products utilize a standard layout with consistent elements to support
predictable, intuitive navigation by users. SmartEvals uses HTML and ARIA attributes to support
use with assistive technologies, such as JAWS or NVDA screen reader programs.
Visual Presentation
SmartEvals makes minimal use of graphic elements, and all buttons and images are tagged.
Additionally, SmartEvals supports high contrast settings, and high zoom browser settings. When
viewing at a high zoom level, text and content automatically reflow and display in a single
column for easy navigation.
Keyboard operation
SmartEvals does not require “pinch to zoom” or other manipulation that demands fine motor
control or simultaneous actions for navigation and use. Users can navigate SmartEvals
applications using standard keyboard interactions such as the tab key to move sequentially
through focus areas, and the enter key to select an item. As users navigate around a page, a
focus area indicator displays to indicate the selected item.
Audio components
SmartEvals’ use of sound is limited to tutorial videos only. Audio elements not used for basic
use and navigation. All videos that use sound are captioned and support volume control.
Speech inputs: SmartEvals does not require any speech inputs.
